Assessment

Assessments are multifaceted and multidimensional in that on the surface, they provide answers to our questions about what a student can do, but when we devote ourselves to delving deeper, they provide answers to who our students are as learners. It is with this mentality that I have learned to approach assessments.

I believe assessments should be

  • Strategic

  • Informative

  • Continuous

  • Formal and informal

  • Promotive of growth in students and teachers alike

  • Accessible to all students

  • Authentic

  • Multimodal
